NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS: Career-Ready with CTMA: Expanding Opportunities program

The Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA) is pleased to announce that we are now accepting applications for the Career-Ready with CTMA: Expanding Opportunities program! Through this program, eligible employers could receive 50% of wages paid up to $5,000 for a single placement, up to $10,000 for two placements, and up to $15,000 for three placements to assist with the cost of hiring and training (depending on start date). Participants of the Career-Ready program receive hands-on training in a real-world work experience that improves their employability by building their knowledge and skills. Registration open for ISTMA World Conference in South Africa

Ontario increasing minimum wage to $16.55

The Ontario government is increasing the minimum wage to $16.55 an hour as of Oct. 1, 2023. Ontario preparing students for jobs of the future

The Ontario government has announced that it is implementing a new high school graduation requirement to help better prepare students across our province for the jobs of tomorrow. Starting with students entering Grade 9 in September 2024, all students will now be required to earn a Grade 9 or 10 Technological Education credit as part of their Ontario Secondary School Diploma. “This is fantastic news!
