Seaspan to return to Metalworking & Manufacturing Expo in Langley

The Metalworking & Manufacturing Expo (MME), sponsored by Elliott Matsuura Canada, Mazak Canada, Renishaw Canada, and TRUMPF Canada, will take place this year in Langley, B.C., April 10; Winnipeg on April 30; and Saskatoon on May 28. At this year’s Langley show, representatives from Seaspan Vancouver Shipyards will return as the keynote presenters to offer more insight into their continuing manufacturing excellence journey. Callum Tio, manager, workforce development, will discuss frontline leadership, training middle management, and how to keep good employees. CTMA celebrates 60th Anniversary at AGM & Dinner

Since opening its doors in 1963, the Canadian Tooling & Machining Association (CTMA) has accomplished an impressive amount—not only within the organization—but for the industry, as well. It’s no surprise the organization’s Annual General Meeting & Dinner was once again nearly sold out with more than 180 guests gathering to also celebrate its 60th anniversary on Sept. 21, at the Lamplighter Inn in London, Ont. CTMA, members exhibit at CMTS 2023

The Canadian Manufacturing Technology Show (CMTS) 2023 was yet again another successful event. This year, the event was held at a new location, the Toronto Congress Centre, and ran from Sept. 25 to 28, and featured more than $1M pounds of live equipment, and the latest technology advancements in machine tools, tooling, metalworking, automation, robotics, additive manufacturing, and digital transformation. The four-day show was held at a new venue this year, the Toronto Congress Centre, which featured more than 250,000-square-feet of live equipment; hundreds of new products; and the opportunity to network with more than 500 suppliers & OEMs.

Mitutoyo celebrates 50th Anniversary in Canada

On June 29, Mitutoyo welcomed attendees to its facility in Mississauga, Ont., to celebrate the company’s 50th year in Canada. The event kicked off with speeches from distinguished guests, including the Deputy Consul General of Japan, Seitoku Kawakami; a welcome from President of Mitutoyo Japan, Yoshiaki Numata; and a welcome from president of Mitutoyo Canada, Matt Dye. Congratulations to the winners from our 25th Annual Golf Tournament

The CTMA held its 25th Annual Shotgun Golf Tournament on June 6 at Pine Knot Golf & Country Club in Dorchester. This sold-out event saw more than 135 golfers who came together to network, play golf, and celebrate the CTMA’s 25th anniversary on a beautiful sunny Tuesday. This event featured 18 holes of golf, networking, contests, raffles, giveaways, a delicious steak dinner and special presentations.
